Guatemalan Crocheted Hacky Sack

Our Hacky Sacks are crocheted of cotton yarn by the Mayans in Guatemala and filled with a mixture of soft and hard plastic pellets to give them just the right crunchy-sounding bounce. Their bright-colored geometric patterns are similar to those of the bags carried by the Ixil Maya. They average 7.5" in diameter and are not over or understuffed. Rubbing between the palms will make them looser and if one wishes to remove pellets, gently insert a blunted pencil point between stitches to enlarge a hole so they can be shaken out. After removing the desired amount, rub the ball between your palms again to close the weave.
